Where do I sign up and pay?

Right here, at ydrivingschool.com

What if I fail a test?

It will be OK, but you will need to study and retake any tests that you don’t score an 80% or better on.  I will let you know through Google Classroom when you need to retake a section.  There is no number of times you can take a test.  You can take it until you pass it.  You want to drive, or you wouldn’t be taking Driver Education so my job is to teach and make sure that you have a good foundation.  Whether you are a good driver or a so-so driver when you leave me doesn’t matter.  You will still be an inexperienced driver.

When do I drive?

You will schedule your driving sessions by emailing me at: ydrive2025@gmail.com.  I can drive with students everyday, but would prefer to have some days off.  I understand that students have conflicts that might come up.  All I ask is that you give me plenty of time (24 hour notice) so I can get another student to possibly drive.  This is why it is important that the phone number I have on file for you is one that I can communicate with you in a short period of time.

How many times and how long do I drive?

You will schedule yourself three driving times and dates.  Each driving session will last two hours.  Some drivers will need to practice in between each driving session while others may not.  That will be decided on an individual basis.  Your beginning driver ability a lot of times determines length of each session.

What if I don’t get all my classroom completed before the required time?

If you need extra time to complete the classroom then we will be able to schedule time by appointment.  No Certificate of Completion will be issued until all classroom work is successfully completed.  You have one year from your Class Day #1 to complete the entire course.

*Please note: Classes can be done in any order, but both classes MUST be completed in order to graduate the course. If the available dates do not work for your schedule, please call me at (620) 719-8666 and we will work with you to accommodate your schedule.

Is there any paperwork I have to do for this course?

Yes, there is an agreement that you must sign to officially be enrolled into this course. The agreement will be signed on the first day of class and by your parents (if 14-17 years old).

The Contents of the Agreement are Below:

We understand that the Y? Driving School instructor(s) are to instruct and evaluate the proper way of driving The limited amount of time will not be enough to develop proficient drivers, and parents should be prepared to provide additional practice time. A positive attitude is essential for students.

Attendance at each class session and being on time is mandatory. Any time missed will have to be made up at a later date. A student can make up any time missed at another classroom monthly session. The Certificate of Completion will be awarded after all classroom and driving is successfully completed. YOU HAVE ONE YEAR TO COMPLETE THE PROGRAM.

The Y? Driving School is responsible for giving you 8 hours of In-Person Classroom Instruction and 6 hours of Behind-the-Wheel Instruction. (A $25 cancellation fee will be charged if you cancel any driving appointments within 24 hours of the drive.)

The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) retains the right to not accept your student’s Certificate of Completion from the Y? Driving School Program. Ordinarily, they will grant the proper license when all requirements are met.
